Rachel McAdams confirms she is joining Marvel’s Doctor Strange

September 14, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Marvel’s Doctor Strange has swelled its cast further with the official news that Rachel McAdams has now signed on to co-star in Phase Three film, reports The Wrap.

Rumours of McAdams’ involvement have been circulating for a few months now, but speaking to The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider at the Toronto Film Festival, McAdams confirmed that she has signed on to play the female lead in the film.

Marvel hasn’t commented as yet.

McAdams has most recently been seen in the second season of HBO’s acclaimed police drama-thriller True Detective opposite Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn.

Doctor Strange is set for release on October 28, 2016 in the UK and November 4, 2016 in the US. Scott Derrickson (Sinister) is directing a cast that so far includes Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) as Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer) as The Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as Baron Mordo.
