Rumour: Ben Mendelsohn wanted for Justice League Dark villain Anton Arcane

November 18, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Yesterday a rumour emerged from Latino-Review suggesting that Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor, Monica Bellucci and Ron Perlman are wanted for roles in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Justice League Dark adaptation Dark Universe, and now Heroic Hollywood is claiming to have the inside track on who the studio wants for the villain.

According to the site, Ben Mendelsohn – who is currently shooting Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has emerged as the front runner to play Anton Arcane, the arch-nemesis of Swamp Thing and a mad scientist hell bent on achieving immortality.

Given the sources – and the fact that the project is yet to secure a director – it wouldn’t be a surprise if both of these casting reports were little more than speculation (or ‘Justice League Shots in the Dark’, as it were), so take them with a pinch of salt. However, with Warner Bros. looking to go into production in 2016, expect the project to start coming together quickly.
