Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will introduce fan favorite villain Krang

January 5, 2016 by Robert Kojder

During Rolling Stone’s recent interview with director Michael Bay, the filmmaker took a video call from visual supervisors of ILM to go over a few ideas and concepts for both Transformers 5 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Furthermore, one of Bay’s remarks is a major clue that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows would feature the live action debut of fan favorite villain Krang, with Bay stating that: “He could have some tentacles, I just don’t want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.”

Krang had been rumoured for some time to feature in this year’s sequel, and will be the first time the character has appeared in live-action form. You can check out concept art for him here.

UPDATE: We’ve got our first glimpse of Krang and the Technodrome thanks to some images of action figures for the sequel; check them out here

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is once again produced by Michael Bay, with David Green (Earth to Echo). directing. Megan Fox (April O’Neill), Will Arnett (Vernon Fenwick), William Fichtner (Eric Sacks), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo) and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo) all return to the cast, while new additions include Stephen Amell (Arrow) as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry (Gone Girl) as Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee (The Wolverine) as The Shredder, Gary Anthony Williams (Boston Legal) as Bebop and WWE’s Sheamus as Rocksteady with Alessandra Ambrosio (Casino Royale) and Laura Linney (The Fifth Estate) in unconfirmed roles. The film is set for release on June 3rd, 2016.
