Mad Max: Fury Road minus the CGI showcases incredible practical effects

September 13, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Mad Max: Fury Road is rightly acclaimed as one of the greatest action films of recent years, and featured some of the most visually impressive stunts and incredible action sequences in cinema history. All the more impressive is that director George Miller captured much of the mayhem using practical effects, and a new video has arrived online which showcases just how spectacular the raw footage was before the visual effects artists worked their CGI magic. Check it out here…

Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron star in this fourth installment of the post-apocalyptic action series from film-maker George Miller. Set in a desolate desert wasteland, the story follows Max (Tom Hardy), who, following the murder of his wife and child, has been captured by a gang, led by the tyrannical Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne). In order to escape Max teams up with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), a woman who wants to travel across the desert and find her way back home. But, after liberating five female captives from Joe’s clutches, she too must escape from the crazy gang leader and his henchmen. Can they make it across the desert in one piece?
