Elodie Yung’s Elektra returns for The Defenders

November 7, 2016 by Ricky Church

As production continues to ramp up for Marvel’s The Defenders, the last week has revealed several cast members from the various Netflix series to reprise their roles for the new show. We can now add one more returning name to the list as Elodie Yung will be coming back as Elektra, the highly-skilled assassin.

In Daredevil‘s second season, Elektra became a central part of The Hand’s plot to gain more power and control over the world. Given that Season 2 left plenty open to explore as they didn’t fully reveal what Elektra’s purpose was, and the SDCC teaser’s hint that The Hand will play an important part of The Defenders, there was little doubt that Elektra wouldn’t be returning for the anticipated crossover.

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

The Defenders will hit Netflix in 2017, with Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Scott Glenn (Stick), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing) and Elodie Yung (Elektra) appearing alongside Sigourney Weaver as the villain.
