Ryan Reynolds still pushing for a Deadpool/Wolverine movie

December 30, 2016 by Gary Collinson

A few days ago The Wrap dropped a “scoop” that Ryan Reynolds had reprised the role of Deadpool to shoot scenes for March’s Logan movie, delighting fans over the prospect of seeing the Merc with a Mouth sharing the screen with Wolverine before Hugh Jackman hangs up the claws.

Sure enough, with this being an El Mayimbe story, it was only a matter of hours before Reynolds, Jackman and director James Mangold took to social media to debunk the report (very strenuously, in Mangold’s case), and now Reynolds has followed up his earlier comments by reiterating interest in a team-up movie:

No. I want a Deadpool/Wolvie film. But Logan is its own unique & perfect thing. The Big Red Shit-Talker wouldn't mix with the tone. https://t.co/35WpEJLJ10

— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) December 29, 2016

His tweet follows his comments from earlier in the month where he lobbied fans to help convince Hugh Jackman to postpone his X-Men retirement in order to see Deadpool and Wolverine in a movie together.

Logan is set for release on March 3rd, while Deadpool 2 is slated to go into production at some point in the coming year, with a 2018 release date looking likely.
