Cobie Smulders confirms Maria Hill return in The Avengers: Age of Ultron

November 8, 2013 by admin

Cobie Smulders is set to reprise the role of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Agent Maria Hill next year as she reunites with Chris Evans (Captain America), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Scarlett Johannson (Black Widow) for Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and now the How I Met Your Mother star has confirmed that she’ll be back again in 2015 as Joss Whedon reassembles Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

“I think I’m in Avengers 2, but it is very top secret,” Smulders tells the Calgary Herald. “I hope I’m in Avengers 2. I didn’t get my invitation yet. Well, actually, they know I’m in it but they don’t know to what degree I’m in it… I am really excited to read the script because they are introducing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into the Avengers universe and the bad guy is going to be very interesting.”

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1st 2015, with Smulders set to join fellow MCU veterans Evans, Jackson, Johannson, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) alongside franchise newcomers James Spader (The Blacklist) as Ultron, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) as Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) as the Scarlet Witch.
