Kick-Ass and Guardians of the Galaxy director of photography Ben Davis joins The Avengers: Age of Ultron

According to Comic Book Movie, director Joss Whedon will be linking up with a new cinematographer when production gets underway on The Avengers: Age of Ultron early in the New Year, with British director of photography Ben Davis set to replace The Avengers’ Seamus McGarvey for the hotly-anticipated sequel.

Davis has recently finished shooting another Marvel project, the James Gunn-helmed Guardians of the Galaxy, while his previous credits include the Matthew Vaughn-directed Layer Cake, Stardust and Kick-Ass, as well as the likes of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Wrath of the Titans and Seven Psychopaths.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 2nd 2015, with a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver) and James Spader (Ultron.
