Miles Teller talks The Fantastic Four trailer, “it’s the first time we saw any footage”

February 25, 2015 by admin

Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four has an uphill struggle on its hand as it tries to win over the comic book fans who hated the film before a single frame was shot. The trailer went some way to help, but it still has its doubters.

One of those people who isn’t doubting the movie is its star Miles Teller, who is playing Reed Richards in the movie.

“You can’t please all people sometimes,” Teller told MTV. “When you shoot a movie, especially when it’s with this movie and Josh Trank – he has a very specific tone whether it is Chronicle or [Fantastic Four], but as an actor you don’t really know what kind of movie it is until you see them cut it together. Now’s the first time we saw any footage, and I was excited, and I know for the most part it seems like that the consensus is good.”

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

The Fantastic Four is set for release on August 7th with Josh Trank directing a cast that includes Miles Teller (Whiplash) as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara (American Horror Story) as the Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) as the Human Torch, Jamie Bell (Nymphomaniac) as The Thing, Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Doctor Doom, Reg E. Cathey (The Wire) as Dr. Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk) as Harvey Elder. Listen to the Flickering Myth Podcast review using the player below:
