Mike Epps cast as Uncle Buck in ABC’s upcoming sitcom

March 5, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Mike Epps (Next Friday, The Hangover) has signed on for the lead role of Buck Russell in ABC’s upcoming single camera remake of the classic John Hughes comedy Uncle Buck, which starred John Candy.

Much like the film, the series will see Epps as a man-child who learns how to be an adult when he has to take care of his brother Will’s kids. Epps is set to be joined in the cast by Nia Long, who will play Will’s “strong-willed and smart wife”.

This will be the second time that the 1989 film has hit the small screen, with Kevin Meany taking on the lead in a short-lived 1990 series, which ran for 19 episodes.
