Director shortlist for Marvel’s Spider-Man film revealed

With Avengers: Age of Ultron raking in the cash across the globe and preparations continuing for the start of production on Captain America: Civil War, Marvel and Sony have reportedly zeroed in on a list of potential directors for their upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

With Spidey set to appear in Civil War, news on the casting of the web-slinger is due very soon and now it seems that the talent behind the camera is set to follow. According to Deadline, Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies), Ted Melfi (St. Vincent), Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect), Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) and John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Vacation) are in the running for the directing gig, with a decision set to be announced by the end of next week.

Spider-Man’s first Marvel appearance will be in Captain America: Civil War, which opens on May 6th 2016, with his own solo film scheduled for July 28th, 2017.
