Elizabeth Banks confirms talks of Pitch Perfect 3

May 18, 2015 by admin

Following a blockbuster weekend where Pitch Perfect 2 beat out Mad Max: Fury Road and topped the US box office with $70.3 million (and around $108 million worldwide), talk has of course turned to a sequel. In an interview with Collider, director Elizabeth Banks was very open about the idea of Pitch Perfect 3, so long as the second movie performs well.

“It would be disingenuous to say that no one’s talking about a Pitch Perfect 3,” she said.”We are really focused on getting as many butts in seats for this one. If fans embrace it, we are going to seriously think about what the continuing journey would look like, but we don’t know what that is yet. I don’t know what the story of the third one is yet. So I can’t say… but I’m excited to delve in and figure it out.”

One would think with Pitch Perfect 2 making more money in its opening weekend than the first one made in its entire run (not to mention the huge album sales), an official announcement of Pitch Perfect 3 can only be round the corner.
