Dwayne Johnson producing and starring in a remake of Big Trouble in Little China

June 2, 2015 by Luke Owen

Following the box office success of his latest disaster movie San Andreas, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is reportedly set to produce and star in a remake of 80s cult favourite Big Trouble in Little China.

The Wrap are reporting that Big Trouble in Little China is one of Johnson’s favourite movies and he will play the role of Jack Burton, made famous by Kurt Russell back in 1986. The film follows Jack, an all-American trucker, who gets caught in a supernatural showdown with the forces of evil while visiting a friend in San Fransico. The film was directed by John Carpenter and also featured Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun and James Hong. The film also rules.

The Big Trouble in Little China remake will be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class) and will be produced by Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Johnson himself.

20th Century Fox have not confirmed this story yet, so this could be a movie that never gets out of development at this stage.
