Superman takes on Wonder Woman in storyboard art from George Miller’s Justice League Mortal

June 1, 2015 by Luke Owen

Since the announcement of a documentary following the development of the failed Justice League Mortal, we’ve started to see a lot more of what could have been. We’ve seen some concept art for Aquaman and Wonder Woman as well as a sculpture of Martian Manhunter and now we have a new set of storyboard art that sees the Man of Steel (D.J. Cotrona) take on Princess Diana of Themyscira (Megan Gale).

Check them out below:

So why is Superman fighting Wonder Woman? Well, in the movie The Last Son of Krypton would have had his mind taken over by Maxwell Lord (Jay Baruchel), which would have turned him against his team mates. However, it would have all ended up badly for Lord when Batman (Armie Hammer) steps in to snap his neck. Ouch.

Justice League Mortal was originally set to go into production in 2007 before Warner Bros. decided to pull the plug. The cast of the film would have included Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) as Batman, D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as Superman, Megan Gale (Stealth) as Wonder Woman, Santiago Cabrera (Heroes) as Aquaman,Adam Brody (The O.C.) as Barry Allen, Anton Yelchin (Hearts in Atlantis) as Wally West, Hugh Keays-Byrne (Mad Max) as Martian Manhunter, Common (American Gangster) as Green Lantern, Zoe Kazan (Fracture) as Iris West, Jay Baruchel (Knocked Up) as Maxwell Lord and Teresa Palmer (December Boys) as Talia al Ghul.
