Kurt Sutter developing Sons of Anarchy spinoff for FX

It looks like Kurt Sutter could be set for a return to the world of Sons of Anarchy, with Entertainment Weekly revealing that he’s currently developing a spinoff series for FX which will focus on the Oakland-based Hispanic gang the Mayans.

Sutter, whose new series The Bastard Executioner is set to premiere next month, would serve as executive producer on the spinoff, with the network said to be actively seeking out a showrunner for the project.

Sons of Anarchy premiered in 2008 and ran for seven seasons en route to becoming the most popular show in FX’s history.
