Anthony Mackie on Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool and Batman v Superman – exclusive Triple 9 interview

February 17, 2016 by admin

We’ll be straight up with you now. His favourite Batman ain’t Clooney.

To promote his new film Triple 9 (2016 – Casey Affleck, Kate Winslet, Norman Reedus), Anthony Mackie sat down with Flickering Myth’s Scott Davis. In the interview, Mackie speaks about where he ranks Captain America: Civil War (in which he plays The Falcon) overall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what he thinks about the DC/Marvel feud and who, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just around the corner, is his favourite Batman ever?

In TRIPLE NINE, a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist and the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down.” Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck action-packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.

Triple 9 is set for release in the UK on February 19th, 2016 and in the US on February 26th, 2016 and is directed by John Hillcoat (The Road) with a cast that includes Casey Affleck (Interstellar), Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Gal Gadot (Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice), Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Civil War), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), CliftonCollins Jr. (Pacific Rim) Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs).
