Oscar Isaac says Star Wars: Episode VIII is “the dark second chapter”

May 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

In an interview with Rolling Stone to promote the release of his latest film X-Men: Apocalypse, Oscar Isaac has spoken briefly about reprising the role of Poe Dameron for next year’s Star Wars: Episode VIII.

“In the new film, there’s a lot more to do. What happens now is the heroes get tested. All three of them, [Poe, Daisy Ridley’s Rey and John Boyega’s Finn] get tested immensely. BB-8’s doing all right. BB-8 gets tested too! Everybody gets tested! It’s the dark second chapter, but not really dark.”

So, it sounds like Episode VIII will be to The Force Awakens what The Empire Strikes Back is to A New Hope, and that can surely only a good thing.
