UPDATE: Ghostbusters reboot toys already hitting bargain bins ahead of film’s release

July 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Things just seem to keep going from bad to worse for Sony and its upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. The Paul Feig-directed film has had to contend with a major backlash from many fans from the moment it was first announced, the trailer became the most disliked in YouTube history, and rumours are swirling that Sony has a trainwreck on its hands.

Still, there are some fans looking forward to the film, and if you fall into that camp we’ve got good news for you – you won’t need to spend as much on merchandise, as tie-in products are already hitting the clearance racks and bargain bins:

UPDATE: Apparently it’s all a big mistake, with a Target rep telling Page Six that: “This is an error and we are working quickly to address it. We apologize for any guest confusion.”

What do you make of the Ghostbusters situation? Is the film going to Trank, or will Paul Feig and company pull off a surprise and deliver a solid hit? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
