Vin Diesel confirms Guardians of the Galaxy for Avengers: Infinity War as Joe Russo explains Avengers 4 title change

August 20, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It’s something we’ve all suspected, and now it seems that Vin Diesel has let the cat out of the bag, seemingly confirming that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be appearing alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Infinity War.

“Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting,” said Diesel in a Facebook live video on his page. “Incredibly exciting and something that if you were a part of our page you were told before everybody.”

Meanwhile, speaking to Cinema Blend, co-director Joe Russo has explained the decision to drop the Part I and Part II titles from the next two Avengers movies:

“We wanted the movie to be very different and distinctive, you know?. There’s certainly cross-pollination between characters and some story-arcs, but you know, the first movie is very clearly Avengers: Infinity War and, in time, we will reveal what the second film is… You’ll learn it, but not for quite some time.”

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled for release on May 4th, 2018, with Untitled Avengers following on May 3rd, 2019.
