Jeffrey Dean Morgan wants to play Flashpoint Batman

October 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Having appeared briefly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Thomas Wayne, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has revealed to CinemaBlend that he’s hoping for a return to the DC Extended Universe, should Warner Bros. decide to adapt the Flashpoint storyline in a future movie.

“Maybe when [Zack Snyder] cast me that was kind of the goal. Hopefully DC can figure this all out, and in a few years I can come back and do a Flashpoint Batman! I would love it. That would be great… I have not had any big discussions with him about [Flashpoint], but I remember when we were in Australia doing Watchmen press, and I was having dinner with Zack or whatever. And he was like, ‘My dream is to do the Frank Miller Batman.’ And he goes, ‘You would be an awesome Batman.’ The darker version.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the Flashpoint storyline, it sees The Flash travelling back in time to save his mother, which rewrites history and sees Bruce Wayne gunned down as a child in Crime Alley, with his father Thomas then becoming a brutal, ruthless incarnation of The Dark Knight.

Would you like to see an adaptation of Flashpoint in the DCEU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
