Fifty Shades Darker receives R-rating for erotic sexual content and graphic nudity

In news that will surprise absolutely nobody, Universal Pictures upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker has received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Society of America, for “strong erotic sexual content, some graphic nudity, and language”.

The first film received the same rating from the MPAA, albeit for “strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behaviour and graphic nudity, and for language” and went on to gross over $570 million worldwide.

When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

Fifty Shades Darker is set for release on February 10th 2017, and also stars Hugh Dancy, Eric Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Bella Heathcote, Kim Basinger and Marcia Gay Harden.
