The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby set for female lead in Mission: Impossible 6

Although Rebecca Ferguson is reprising her Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation role of Ilsa Faust, it seems we’ll be getting a new female lead in Mission: Impossible 6, with Variety reporting that The Crown actress Vanessa Kirby is in final talks with Paramount and Skydance to join the latest chapter of the blockbuster spy series.

Details on Kirby’s role as being kept under wraps, although the site reports that the part is expected to be on the same level as Ferguson’s in Rogue Nation. In addition to The Crown, Kirby’s other roles including appearances in the likes of Me Before You, Everest and Jupiter Ascending.

Mission: Impossible 6 will reunite Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson with Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie, while Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg are also expected to return. Production is slated to get underway in the spring ahead of a release on July 27th 2018.
