Kurt Russell interested in Fast & Furious 9 return

April 19, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Kurt Russell is in the lucky position where right after having been a part of a record-breaking global box office smash hit in The Fate of the Furious, he is about to be a part of another worldwide cultural phenomenon in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. And naturally, he is now starting to partake in interview rounds with the media for the latter.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Kurt Russell expressed what would convince him to take part in Fast & Furious 9, stating: “Well, all my life I’ve never been one for sequels and stuff. I’ve done it one time with Escape From LA, which was from Escape From New York, which was 17 years earlier. But we live in a different time now. We live in a time where that’s the norm. I’ve never had anything against it, I just think that each time what I think they’ve learned now, is that you can’t just throw a sequel out there because you did good business. You have to go after it to make it even better. It puts more pressure on you. That, I like! That, I think, is a challenge, and every time you look at what it is, and if you like it and you think you’ve got a reason to do it, you do it. If there’s not you don’t.”

Let us know below in the comments if you would like to see Kurt Russell reprise his role as Mr. Nobody for Fast & Furious 9…

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before. From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.

The Fate of the Furious is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and features a cast that includes Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Eva Mendes, Elsa Pataky, Lucas Black, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell, Kristofer Hivju, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
