Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger gets 10-episode order

April 5, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Coinciding with the news that Freeform has placed a straight-to-series order for Marvel’s New Warriors, we now have word from Disney Media Distribution general manager Mark Endemano that the network’s other Marvel project Cloak & Dagger also has a ten-episode order.

“Cloak & Dagger is about character and emotion above all. It tells of a romance between Tandy and Tyrone in a way that we haven’t really seen before in a Marvel TV series,” said Endemano (via MIP). “So think Romeo and Juliet though I can tell you that they won’t be dying at the end of the first episode!”

“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved Marvel characters.  Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul.

Once a privileged little girl, Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life changing event.

Young Tyrone Johnson wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless. But when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. But when he meets a girl named Tandy his life changes forever.

Cloak & Dagger is currently shooting in New Orleans, with a cast that also includes Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods), Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot), Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar), Carl Lundstedt (Grey’s Anatomy, Conviction), James Saito (Life of Pi, The Devil’s Advocate) and J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead).
