New Flash director, The Predator set photos, King Arthur loses $150 million and more – Daily News Roundup

Although the film has lost two directors over the years since its announcement, Warner Bros. and DC continue to push forward with The Flash solo movie starring Ezra Miller, and a new crop of directors are reportedly at the top of the list. It has been reported that both Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class) and Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) have met with the studio, while The Wrap is saying Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) is the front-runner. There’s no release date for the movie, and the report says Warner Bros. could delay its production should Zemeckis take the project on. Read more here.

BAT-APE

A director who is confirmed for a DC solo movie is Matt Reeves, who will be helming The Batman starring Ben Affleck. In an interview to promote the upcoming release of War for the Planet of the Apes, Reeves has said that his motion-capture collaborator Andy Serkis could feature in the film. Read more here.

Cast your minds back, and you might recall a little FMV game entitled It Came From the Desert, which was a tribute to the classic Warner Bros. movie Them!. Well a brand new movie has been made based on the game, and the first trailer for it was released yesterday. Check it out here.

LEGEND OF THE FLOP

Oh dear. It’s almost as if someone should have seen this coming, really. After a disasterous opening weekend, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is set to loose a lot of money for Warner Bros. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is set to earn around $145 million globally. Given its $175 million budget and marketing, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is set to lose upwards of $150 million. Oh dear. Read more here.
