Doctor Who reportedly getting a new format and TARDIS revamp for series 11

October 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following this year’s Christmas Special, Doctor Who will return next year for its eleventh series with a new Doctor in Jodie Whittaker and showrunner in Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch). However, according to The Mirror, those aren’t the only changes in store.

The tabloid is reporting that the new series will revamp the format of the show, running for ten hour-long episodes, as opposed to twelve or thirteen 45-minute episodes. Meanwhile, Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor will be getting a new sonic screwdriver, while the interior of the TARDIS will also be given a complete overhaul for its first female Doctor.
