Following this year’s Christmas Special, Doctor Who will return next year for its eleventh series with a new Doctor in Jodie Whittaker and showrunner in Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch). However, according to The Mirror, those aren’t the only changes in store.
The tabloid is reporting that the new series will revamp the format of the show, running for ten hour-long episodes, as opposed to twelve or thirteen 45-minute episodes. Meanwhile, Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor will be getting a new sonic screwdriver, while the interior of the TARDIS will also be given a complete overhaul for its first female Doctor.
Jodie Whittaker is set to make her debut in the upcoming Christmas Special ‘Twice Upon a Time’, which will mark Peter Capaldi’s final appearance as the Twelfth Doctor and also features David Bradley in a guest role as William Hartnell’s First Doctor. Watch the trailer for the Christmas Special here.
