Hawkeye gets a big suit upgrade in Avengers 4, set-photos reveal

October 25, 2017 by Jordan Jones

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hawkeye has always been the butt of many jokes. We have Tony Stark’s awesome Iron-Man suit, Thor’s mighty hammer, Captain America’s classic costume, and Hawkeye’s… leather cutoff? In a cinematic world of flashy outfits, Hawkeye has always felt a bit drab, which is why it’s exciting to find out that Clint Barton is getting an upgrade in the near-future.

Posted on Chinese social-media site Weibo, we can see a few Avengers 4 set-photos showing Jeremy Renner behind-the-scenes in costume. His trench-coat covers most of his clothing, but looking at his boots, it becomes pretty clear that he will be getting a particular upgrade very soon. Comic-readers will immediately recognize this as Clint Barton/Hawkeye shifting into his Ronin persona, as previously rumoured. Here are the photos courtesy of Twitter user Weeping angel:

It’s unclear when, exactly, Barton will be making his shift into Ronin. He could easily pull it off in Avengers: Infinity War, as we still don’t have a ton of details on the film, other than knowing that it’s massive in scope.

What do you think? Will we see Ronin in Avengers: Infinity War, or will he be making his debut in Avengers 4? Let us know in the comments below…

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket, Kraglin), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Benicio Del Toro (The Collector), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Peter Dinklage, Terry Notary and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
