Despite filming wrapping last month and the film being less than a year away from release, we’ve had absolutely nothing in the way of marketing materials or official plot details for the next chapter of 20th Century Fox’s main X-Men series, X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
However, while we await some official news, That Hashtag Show has posted a rumour claiming that the movie will feature the death of a major X-Men character at the hands of Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey as she is overcome by the Phoenix Force. Apparently Jean will impale the character, with the site claiming that the victim will be either Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Professor X (James McAvoy) or Beast (Nicholas Hoult).

One would assume if you know how a character dies, you’d probably be able to narrow it down to which character it is, so we should probably take this one with a pinch of salt for the time being. X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set for release on November 2nd, 2018. Simon Kinberg is directing a cast that includes franchise veterans Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) alongside new additions Jessica Chastain and Lamar Johnson.
