First cast photo for Marvel’s New Warriors

December 15, 2017 by Gary Collinson

With Marvel still searching for a new home for its upcoming comedy series New Warriors, a set photo has arrived online giving us our first look at the principal cast members from the show in Derek Theler (Craig Hollis/Mister Immortal), Milana Vayntrub (Doreen Green/Squirrel Girl), Jeremy Tardy (Dwayne Taylor/Night Thrasher), Calum Worthy (Robbie Baldwin/Speedball), Matthew Moy (Zach Smith/Microbe) and Kate Comer (Deborah Fields/Debrii), as well as showrunner Kevin Biegel.

New Warriors was originally slated to air on Freeform – home to another upcoming Marvel series in Cloak & Dagger – and is currently being shopped to other networks, with Marvel looking to secure a two-season pickup for the show based on a pilot that is said to have tested “through the roof”.

Marvel’s New Warriors is about six young people with powers living and working together. With powers and abilities on the opposite end of the spectrum of the Avengers, the New Warriors want to make a difference in the world … even if the world isn’t ready. Not quite super, not yet heroes, “Marvel’s New Warriors” is about that time in your life when you first enter adulthood and feel like you can do everything and nothing at once – except in this world, bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.
