Jason Todd is coming to DC’s Titans TV series

March 15, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

It looks like Brenton Thwaites’ Dick Grayson won’t be the only Robin to make an appearance in the live-action Teen Titans show Titans, as TitansTV is reporting that the seventh episode of the digital series will be going by the title ‘Jason Todd’.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Curran Walters (20th Century Women, Girl Meets World) has been cast as Jason, who in the comic books became the second Robin after Dick Grayson. He was later killed by The Joker, and revived as the Red Hood.

Given that Titans will focus on Dick Grayson’s transformation from Robin into Nightwing, it’s likely that we’ll see Jason Todd taking over the reins of the Boy Wonder, rather than seeing the Red Hood storyline playing out. That being said, it’s definitely something that could be explored over future seasons.

From executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, TITANS is an all-new live-action drama series that follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. TITANS is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

Titans sees Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) leading the cast as Dick Grayson, alongside Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach. It is set to air on the new DC streaming service later in the year.
