Michael Rooker has revealed how Yondu would defeat Thanos

April 3, 2018 by Samuel Brace

If Yondu had made it to Avengers: Infinity War, Michael Rooker knows how the character would have defeated Thanos.

Thanos has been a looming presence for some time and in Avengers: Infinity War, and audiences will at last get to see the many heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe go up against the intimidating villain.

Thanos will be by far the most powerful enemy any of our heroes have gone up against so far and how they will end up besting him remains a mystery.

Michael Rooker, who played anti-hero Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, knows what his character would have done if given the chance, however, and has provided details at Awesome Con (via ComicBook.com):

“I’d shoot him with my arrow or something,” Rooker says simply. “When he’s not looking! Preferably by surprise ’cause I wouldn’t want to go head-to-head with him. He has the thing with the things on it!”

The jokey response from Rooker is expected, of course, as there isn’t much a being like Yondu can do against such a foe, which Rooker admits:

“Yeah, Yondu’s arrow is pretty formidable, but you know, with those stones that’s power,” Rooker said. “That’s raw, awesome power he’s got and he’s gonna wield it very soon. I hope you all go to the movies and see.”
