Arrow loses another cast member as Paul Blackthorne exits show

May 2, 2018 by Ricky Church

It seems Willa Holland will not be the only Arrow star to leave the show come Season 7. Paul Blackthorne, who plays Quentin Lance, will not be returning for the new season according to Entertainment Weekly.

Blackthorne is one of Arrows‘ original cast members, first appearing as Detective Lance in the pilot. As the father to both Laurel and Sara Lance, he had a hatred for Oliver Queen, blaming him for Sara’s supposed death aboard their family yacht, the Queen’s Gambit, before becoming an ally to ‘The Hood’. Since then, he has gone through ebbs and flows of being an ally to Oliver and his team or an antagonist, hunting them down in Season 3 and reluctantly teaming with Damien Darhk in Season 4.

The current season of Arrow has seen Lance no longer a detective, but as Deputy Mayor of Star City working under Mayor Oliver Queen. The most recent episode of the series saw Oliver arrested, now making Lance mayor to their home. The details surrounding Lance’s exit from the show are being kept under wraps for the time being while Holland’s Thea Queen, aka Speedy, left Star City on a new mission to hunt down and destroy the remaining Lazarus Pits.

Could Quentin Lance be getting a new mission or will his fate be something more final? Let us know what you think below…
