Timothy Olyphant joins Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

May 12, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With the cast quickly coming together, Deadline is reporting that Justified and Santa Clarita Diet star Timothy Olyphant has become the latest addition to Quentin Tarantino’s next film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Olyphant joins the previously announced Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, who are portraying former Western TV star and his longtime stunt double struggling to make it in Hollywood in 1969.

Earlier this week, Oscar nominee Margot Robbie was confirmed as portraying Sharon Tate, the actress wife of director Roman Polanski, and a victim of the Manson Family. Tarantino regulars Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen are also on board, along with Burt Reynolds.

The official synopsis for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood reads:

A story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbour… Sharon Tate.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set for release on August 9th, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the murder of Sharon Tate.
