Ben Affleck and more join Dee Rees’ The Last Thing He Wanted

July 13, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Ben Affleck (Justice League), Toby Jones (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Rosie Perez (Rise), Edi Gathegi (The Blacklist), and Mel Rodriguez (The Last Man on Earth) have joined the cast of The Last Thing He Wanted, the new film from Dee Rees (Mudbound).

Based on Joan Didion’s novel, The Last Thing He Wanted is described as “a thrilling story of one woman, alone and unrelenting in a race against time” and sees Anne Hathaway (Ocean’s 8) as Elena McMahon, a journalist who finds herself on dangerous ground as the Iran Contra Affair’s arms for drugs plot reaches its tipping point. Willem Dafoe (Aquaman) also features in the cast.

Production on The Last Thing He Wanted is currently underway in Puerto Rico, while Netflix will distribute the film worldwide next year.
