Rumoured details on the villains for The Batman and Suicide Squad 2

July 21, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With plenty of news expected to come out of the Warner Bros. adn DC Films panel at the San Diego Comic-Con International later today, we’ve got another story from the DC rumour mill, with vlogger Grace Randolph claiming to have the inside scoop on the villains for two future DCEU releases in The Batman and Suicide Squad 2.

While Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke was originally earmarked as the big bad for The Batman when Ben Affleck remained the director’s chair, Randolph is reporting that Matt Reeves will actually be making use of the Court of Owls as the main antagonists, with Oswald Cobblepot – a.k.a. The Penguin – as a secondary villain.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Court of Owls, the group was created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo during DC’s New 52 relaunch. A secret society of some of Gotham’s wealthiest families, The Court of Owls has controlled the city from the shadows for centuries, and mark Bruce Wayne for death as he attempts to reshape and rebuild a Gotham for the future.

Meanwhile, with Dwayne Johnson said to have been unable to commit to portraying Black Adam as the villain for Suicide Squad 2, Randolph reports that the Gavin O’Connor-directed sequel will now see Task Force X going up against Amazo.

Making his debut in The Brave and the Bold back in 1960, Amazo is an android created by the mad scientist Professor Ivo who posses the ability to drain and steal the powers and abilities of his foes. Apparently Amazo was chosen after several other potential villains were considered, including Zatanna, Raven, and even a mind-controlled Supergirl.

What do you make of these villain rumours? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
