Bruce Campbell to voice Ash in new Evil Dead video game

August 19, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in April Bruce Campbell announced his retirement as Ash Williams following the cancellation of the Starz TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead, but it seems we do have one more outing from his Ash to look forward to.

Speaking to Bloody Disgusting, Campbell revealed that he is set to lend his voice to Ash in an as-yet-unrevealed Evil Dead video game.

“I have previous obligations I have to fulfil. They are doing a video game. A whole immersive kind of dealio. I’ll be Ash for that, because I wouldn’t want someone else’s voice hamming it up.”

Campbell has previously voiced Ash in the video games Hail to the King, A Fistful of Boomstick and Evil Dead: Regeneration, the last of which was released in 2005.

Given his comments about the new game being immersive, it sounds like a VR title is in the offing, with the franchise having recently dipped its toes into virtual reality with the first-person endless runner Evil Dead: Virtual Nightmare.
