Back to the Future tops audience poll of most-wanted sequels

November 26, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back to the Future has topped an audience survey asking moviegoers which franchise they’d most like to see another instalment from, with 71% of people polled by THR stating that they’re keen to see another adventure from Marty McFly and Doc Brown.

The Back to the Future series, which starred Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, has been absent from the big screen since the release of Back to the Future Part III in 1990. However, another instalment seems highly unlikely, given that director Robert Zemeckis has regularly ruled out a reboot and stated categorically earlier this year that: “There will never ever be, in the most absolute way, a Back to the Future 4. There will be no more Back to the Future.”

Following on from Back to the Future, the next highest rated franchises were Toy Story (69%), Indiana Jones (68%), Jurassic Park (67%), Star Wars (63%), The Avengers (57%), The Hunger Games (55%), The Matrix (54%), and Avatar (53%).
