EVE Online celebrates Valentine’s Day with the return of Guardian’s Gala

February 12, 2019 by Andrew Newton

From today players of CCP Games’ unique player driven spaceship MMO EVE Online can celebrate Valentine’s Day once more with this year’s Guardian’s Gala and fight against the pirates of New Eden.  Also in this month’s update are a number of quality of life tweaks and the introduction of a high level visual roadmap for upcoming updates.

This year’s Guardian’s Gala will see the return of the Angel Cartel who are intent on revenge after the humiliation they suffered at the hands of Capsuleers last year.  Otuwiri and Khaitetha will be on the hunt for any unsuspecting pilots that will make easy prey.

The New Eden Store will provide a variety of exclusive rewards for those who secure enough points.  These rewards include a new line of Spirit SKINs for additional hulls, Agency Combat Boosters, Facial Augmentations, modules and fireworks.

“The Guardians Gala is one of our most popular recurring activities that sees a lot of participants from our community each year,” said Paul Elsy, Senior EVE Universe Community Manager. “This time around, capsuleers can get their hands-on exclusive rewards such as SKINs, Cerebral Accelerators and Facial Augmentations upon challenging the Cartel’s finest combat pilots.”

This month’s update will provide several quality of life tweaks, including improvements to finding items in their personal assets, the addition of a hit point percentage display for drones, share broadcast settings and inventory item filters and ability to copy current industry jobs lists.

As mentioned above, this month sees the introduction of a high level visual roadmap called CCPlease, this gives players an accessible overview of upcoming fixes, optimisations and improvements.

The Guardian’s Gala starts today and runs until 25th February so be sure to get some flight time in while it lasts. Talk to us on Twitter about EVE Online at @FMyth_Gaming.
