Fairytale-esque puzzler Roterra now available on the App Store

February 1, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Dig It! Games has announced the release of their puzzler Roterra on the App Store.  Inspired by a 16th century epic poem by Ludovico Ariosto called “Orlando Furioso”, Roterra will see players solving puzzles by manipulating the environment to save the kingdom.

In Roterra players take the role of Angelica, the rightful Queen of Roterra, who has lost her kingdom to her power hungry brother, Orlando. Players will need to guide Angelica through a number of locations, including dense forests, dark caves, and giant castles so she can retake what is rightfully hers.   Angelica will need to solve a variety of puzzles by rotating or sliding the cubes that make up her world and even by flipping the world upside down while also avoiding the traitorous knights that are hot on her heels.

As players progress through the game they will be able to switch between a number of different characters such as a good-natured Yellow Knight and a Wizard to see the story from several perspectives.

“Angelica, our protagonist, shines a bright light on a new type of video game hero – someone whose strength comes not from overgrown muscles or guns, but from within. Angelica is more than capable of looking after herself. She could ‘go it alone’ if needed. But our hero fully understands the enormous value of cooperation – and the transformative power of friendship. She enlists collaborators – and together, they save the kingdom of Roterra from a second-rate dictator.” – Suzi Keehn, Chief Executive Officer, DIG-IT! Games.

Roterra is available now on the App Store. Leave us a comment on Twitter at @FMyth_Gaming to let us know whether you’ll be picking this up…
