Good Omens gets a new trailer, Brian Cox to voice Death

March 6, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its premiere this May, Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for the upcoming TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 fantasy novel Good Omens which largely focuses on the unlikely pairing of angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tennant) as they agree to work together to track down the anti-Christ and put a stop to the impending apocalypse; check it out here…

Meanwhile, coinciding with the trailer, Neil Gaiman has also announced via Twitter that Brian Cox (Churchill) has joined the series in the voice role of Death, one of the four Bikers of the Apocalypse. Here’s Gaiman’s tweet:

So for anybody wondering… The amazing Brian Cox plays Death in #GoodOmens. This is what Death looks like, when he's not on a motorbike anyway. (Watch the trailer tomorrow.) pic.twitter.com/ARmFMM97uc

According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch – the world’s only totally reliable guide to the future, written in 1655, before she exploded – the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just after tea…

People have been predicting the end of the world almost from its very beginning, so it’s only natural to be sceptical when a new date is set for Judgement Day. This time though, the armies of Good and Evil really do appear to be massing. The four Bikers of the Apocalypse are hitting the road. But both the angels and demons – well, one fast-living demon and a somewhat fussy angel – would quite like the Rapture not to happen.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist…

Good Omens premieres on Amazon Prime and BBC Two on May 31st, and features a cast that includes David Tennant (Jessica Jones), Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), Michael McKean (Better Call Saul), Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Miranda Richardson (Churchill), Adria Arjona (True Detective), Nina Sosanya (Marcella), Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinders), Ariyon Bakare (New Blood), Anna Maxwell Martin (Becoming Jane), Lourdes Faberes (Knightfall), and Yusuf Gatewood (The Originals).
