Star Wars: Episode IX panel set for Star Wars Celebration

Lucasfilm has announced that it will host a Star Wars: Episode IX panel at next month’s Star Wars Celebration Chicago, at which point it’s expected we’ll get our first look at what is being billed as “the final chapter of the Skywalker saga”.

The panel will take place on Friday, April 12th, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and director J.J. Abrams in attendance. Further guests on the panel are yet to be confirmed.

Lucasfilm has previously announced that Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance and the returning Star Wars: The Clone Wars will all have panels at Celebration, as will the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game from EA. It’s also expected that the Disney+ TV series The Mandalorian will have a presence.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set for release on December 20th 2019 with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Mabeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
