Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau reveals what Jaime was thinking when he saw Bran

April 16, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, one of the stars of Game of Thrones, reveals what Jaime was thinking the moment he saw Bran in the season eight premiere.

There were many great moments during the premiere of Game of Thrones final ever season, from The Hound and Arya catching up and Jon’s dragon ride to the creepy message sent by The Night King.

Another was certainly when Jaime, finally arriving in Winterfell to help out the good guys, spots Bran from across the courtyard, remembering that he pushed him out a window all those years ago, confining him to a wheelchair.

What was going through Jaime’s mind at this moment? Well, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau reveals all to EW: “First of all, I don’t think wheelchairs are a normal thing in Westeros. I think it’s like: ‘What the hell?’ and then, ‘Oh my god, that’s the kid.’ I think he knows Bran didn’t die, but he doesn’t expect to meet him.”

The actor reveals how this meeting impacts his future actions: “His mission changes once again. It goes from: ‘I know my brother Tyrion is there and I’m going to fight the good fight’ to ‘I’m in deep shit now.’ Because this is the Lord of Winterfell that I tried to kill and I’m sure he wants revenge. That’s what Jaime expects.”
