8 Actors Who Could Replace Ben Affleck in The Batman

May 1, 2019 by Liam Hoofe

Tye Sheridan

If Warner Bros. are considering going super young with this incarnation of Bruce Wayne, then they’d struggle to find a better candidate than Tye Sheridan. The young actor has already proven he has box office appeal, starring in the likes of Ready Player One and X-Men: Apocalypse, and he would certainly help rejuvenice the Batman franchise.

Of all the candidates on this list, Sheridan is easily the most babyfaced though, and the change could prove to be a little bit too radical for the Batman purists out there. At this point, however, any change is likely to be positive, and this could prove to be a risk worth taking.

Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal’s name has been floating around The Batman discussion for quite some time now, and frankly, it’s about time the former Donnie Darko star landed himself a major franchise leading role.

Gyllenhaal, however, is set to star in Spider-Man: Far From Home later this year, and while that is likely a one and done deal, the future of the character can’t be 100% certain until the movie hits theatres later this year.

Gyllenhaal is one of the most diverse actors working in Hollywood today, and he could more than fill the boots left behind Ben Affleck in the role.

Zac Efron

While there are still some people out there who can’t shake the image of Zac Efron dancing around in High School Musical, the 31-year-old has more than proven his acting talents in recent years.

Efron’s latest performance as Ted Bundy has earned him some of the best reviews of his career, and he has shown that he is more than capable of putting a darker twist on his characters.

He also has the perfect look for a young Bruce Wayne; oozing confidence with his good looks and impressive physique. Efron would also no doubt help draw in a different crowd for the role, and help put some much-needed eyes back on the franchise.

Who would you like to see donning the cape and cowl for The Batman? Let us know your pick in the comments below…
