First trailer for The Goldfinch starring Ansel Elgort and Nicole Kidman

May 29, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Following yesterday’s poster for The Goldfinch, Warner Bros. has nolw debuted the first trailer for the upcoming drama. Directed by John Crowley, the film is an adaptation of Donna Tartt’s 2014 Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name and stars Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman, Oakes Fegley, Aneurin Barnard, Finn Wolfhard, Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson, and Jeffrey Wright; watch it here…

Theodore “Theo” Decker was 13 years old when his mother was killed in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The tragedy changes the course of his life, sending him on a stirring odyssey of grief and guilt, reinvention and redemption, and even love. Through it all, he holds on to one tangible piece of hope from that terrible day…a painting of a tiny bird chained to its perch. The Goldfinch.

The Goldfinch is set for release on September 27th, and features a cast that also includes Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love), Willa Fitzgerald (Little Women), Aimee Laurence (Chicago P.D.), Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story), Boyd Gaines (Driving Miss Daisy), Peter Jacobson (Colony), Luke Kleintank (The Man in the High Castle), Robert Joy (CSI: NY), and newcomer Ryan Foust.
