Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez join female-fronted spy thriller 355

May 19, 2019 by Gary Collinson

The upcoming female-led ensemble spy thriller 355 has added a couple of male cast members, with Variety reporting that Sebastian Stan (Avengers: Endgame) and Edgar Ramirez (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) have been cast in the film.

Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Dark Phoenix) is directing 355 from a script by Theresa Rebeck (Smash), and will see Stan and Ramirez starring alongside Jessica Chastain (It: Chapter Two), Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), Penelope Cruz (The Assassination of Gianni Versace) and Fan Bingbing (X-Men: Days of Future Past).

As per Variety, 355 is described as “a globe-trotting adventure that flips the espionage genre upside-down” and sees Chastain, Nyong’o, Cruz and Fan as a quartet of spies from various international agencies who “must bond together, overcoming their suspicions and conflicts, to use all their considerable talents and training to stop an event from occurring that could thrust our teetering world into total chaos. Along the way, these strangers and enemies become comrades and friends, and a new faction is formed – code-named 355”.

355 is set to begin filming in July and will shoot in France, the U.K. and Morocco.
