Batman prequel series Pennyworth gets a trailer and poster

EPIX has released a new trailer for its upcoming Batman prequel series Pennyworth, which follows the early years of Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred. Check it out here, along with a poster which reveals that the series is set to premiere on July 28th…

From Warner Horizon Scripted Television, DC origin story Pennyworth is a ten-episode, one-hour drama series based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger.  It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), Bruce’s billionaire father, in 1960’s London.

Jack Bannon (The Imitation Game) stars in the title role as young Alfred while the rest of the Pennyworth cast includes Ben Aldridge (Fleabag) as Thomas Wayne, Ryan Fletcher (Outlander) and Hainsley Lloyd Bennett (Casualty) as Alfred’s military buddies Dave Boy and Bazza, Jason Flemyng (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, X-Men: First Class) as Lord Hardwood, Paloma Faith (Youth) as Bet Sykes, and Polly Walker (Rome) as Peggy Sykes.
