NBC developing The Da Vinci Code prequel series Langdon

June 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon could be heading to the small screen, with Deadline reporting that NBC has given a production commitment to Langdon, which is being developed by Daniel Cerone (Motive, Constantine) and Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Television Studios.

Based upon The Lost Symbol, Langdon will serve as a prequel to The Da Vinci Code following a younger Robert Langdon, who in an early adventure, finds himself pulled into a series of deadly puzzles when his mentor is kidnapped, leading him to uncover a chilling conspiracy.

Langdon will be the fourth adaptation of Brown’s novels from Imagine Entertainment after the feature films The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno, all of which were directed by Howard and starred Tom Hanks as the Harvard symbologist. Combined, the movies have grossed almost $1.5 billion worldwide.
