June 11, 2019 by Andrew Newton

At this year’s Square Enix E3 presentation it was announced that the latest action RPG from Tokyo RPG Factory, Oninaki, will arrive on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and PC on 22nd August.  This third title from the development studio takes inspiration from classic Japanese RPGs to provide a captivating experience on modern platforms.  Watch the new E3 release date trailer below….

Oninaki is an action RPG set in a mysterious and beautiful world that will see players follow the epic adventure of Kagachi, a young Watcher who is tasked with guiding the souls of the recently deceased into the next world.  When Kagachi meets a mysterious girl who he names Linne, his fate becomes a lot more complicated.

As players follow Kagachi on his adventure he will meet a variety of colourful characters, including trusted leader of the Watchers, Kushi, the kind hearted Watcher Mayura and Night Devil, a malicious swordsman who is hunting Linne.

Along with deep character development, Oninaki features a captivating storyline that contributes to a unique, yet familiar JRPG experience.

ONINAKI will be available globally on 22nd August 2019. The E3 trailer highlights some of the mysteries that Kagachi will encounter during his epic adventure between the world of the Living and the realm of the Beyond.

Oninaki arrives on PS4, Switch and Steam on 22nd August.
