7 Days to Die Alpha 18 trailer details new books

July 30, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Joel Huenink of The Fun Pimps has brought us a new video looking at the new series of books coming to Alpha 18 of their zombie survival game 7 Days to Die.  This first book series to be revealed is “The Fireman’s Almanac” and will bring new perks and abilities related to heat and fire.  Watch the video below and leave a comment and let us know what you think.

There are 7 books in the “The Fireman’s Almanac” series and these can be found in book stores, on book shelves and even in rubbish bags.  Each one will give a different perk or ability and collecting all books in a series will reward players with a particularly special ability.  In the case of “The Fireman’s Almanac”, this special ability is to be able to sprint for longer and never be encumbered while in the burnt forest biome.

Finding all these books will be a long search as they won’t be all that common to find, however, finding them will reward players with the following:

  • Book 1 will improve survivability in hotter biomes.
  • Book 2 will enable players to craft the Fireman’s Axe modification.  This mod increases damage done to blocks by 25% but will reduce damage to enemies by 25%.
  • Book 3 provides an attack speed boost with the axe.
  • It’s time to break out the crate of molotovs with book 4 as this will increase damage with fire based weapons by 10%.
  • If, like me, you always manage to set yourself on fire with molotovs then book 5 will reduce the chance of catching fire.
  • Book 6 increases damage done to burnt wood and coal.
  • Finally, book 6 will allow players to craft firemen’s helmets and take 5% less damage when using them.

What do you think of this new book?  Do you think it’s a good addition to Alpha 18 or should the Fun Pimps focus on something else?  Leave a comment below or on Twitter @FMyth_Gaming.
