Wesley Snipes reacts to Blade being rebooted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe

July 24, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Former Blade actor Wesley Snipes has shared his thoughts on Blade being rebooted and recast for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Before the MCU was a thing, Wesley Snipes was busy doing his thing as the vampire hunter Blade on the big screen and discussion of bringing the character back has existed ever since.

Well, it’s finally happening as Marvel Studios is going to be rebooting Blade for the MCU but, surprisingly to his fans, not with Snipes in the title role. Instead, Oscar winner Mahershala Ali has been cast. What does Snipes think of all this? Well, he shared his thoughts with ComicBook.com:

“To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL GOOD. Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan. Honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come. Inshallah, we will someday work together. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘nah fret nah worry, it’s not de end of de story.’ Welcome to the Daywalker Klique.”

So, as you can see, Snipes is very supportive of the move, even if he surely would have liked to have had another crack at the role in the MCU. Regardless of who plays the part however, it’s going to be fun to see how this project develops at Marvel Studios.

Are you excited about Mahershala Ali’s take on Blade, or would you have liked to see another outing for Snipes’ Daywalker? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
